[Corporate News] Zhang Biao, Director of the Suzhou Intellectual Property Bureau, and a delegation of officials visited our company for a research tour.

“Liu Liu Vision’s 60-year history of entrepreneurship and innovation—particularly the company’s emphasis on product innovation and independent R&D—has left a deep impression on us.” On the afternoon of November 9, Zhang Biao, Director of the Suzhou Intellectual Property Bureau, led a delegation of ten officials to our company for a fact-finding visit. They were accompanied by leaders including Zhou Jianhui from Gusu District, Wang Qincheng from the Gusu District Party and Government Office, Yuan Ronghua and Xiao Lifang from the Gusu District Bureau of Economy and Technology, as well as Shao Yong, Director of Pingjiang Subdistrict.

Mr. Zhou Yongyao, Chairman of the company, first led Director Zhang and his delegation on a tour of the company’s product exhibition hall, where he provided a detailed overview of the company’s six-decade history of product development. The past sixty years have been marked by unwavering dedication to ophthalmology and a steadfast commitment to independent innovation. Relying on technological breakthroughs, the company has achieved one remarkable milestone after another: in the 1960s, it developed domestically produced ophthalmic surgical instruments, shattering the stereotype that “a single knife was worth an ounce of gold”; in the 1970s, it introduced the slit‑lamp microscope, affectionately dubbed the “pride‑of‑the‑nation lamp”; in the 1980s, it launched surgical microscopes and microsurgical instruments; in the 1990s, it brought forth intraocular lenses; and around the turn of the millennium, it unveiled internationally leading products such as excimer laser refractive treatment systems and ocular wavefront analyzers. Over the past decade, the company has introduced a series of groundbreaking new products—such as fully automatic non‑mydriatic fundus cameras, high‑speed vitrectomy cutters, digital slit lamps, infant and toddler vision screening devices, phacoemulsification units, and ocular iontophoresis therapy devices—filling critical gaps in the domestic market.

Subsequently, an intellectual property symposium was held in the company’s second-floor conference room. During the meeting, Director Zhang briefly outlined the objectives and scope of the research. He stated that the study would focus primarily on Suzhou’s leading IP‑strong enterprises and high‑tech firms, with Liuliu Vision serving as a key stop on the itinerary. Chairman Zhou Yongyao then presented a report on the company’s intellectual property portfolio, its protection measures, and the lessons learned throughout its development.
